Looks at issues of worklessness, skills, aspirations and debt management
The Comeunity Programme continues to support the development of Rainbow Saver Anglia Credit Union in the promotion of its low-cost loans and savings scheme. The Credit Union presents a not-for-profit alternative to doorstep lenders and loan sharks. The Credit Union hosts a collection point on a Friday at the Neighbourhood Centre and every Wednesday morning at the Priory Centre.
Owing to the success of the pilot programme in 2007-2008 the Comeunity Programme is continuing to support the development of a programme of support linking local residents into training, volunteering and employment pathways. The project is being delivered by Voluntary Norfolk.
The programme is currently working with the Citizens Advice Bureau to explore the potential of developing a benefits transition project to provide information on the real benefits of entering the labour market.
