The Neighbourhood

According to the 2001 Census the Comeunity neighbourhood comprises 8,608 local residents. The neighbourhood covers the Town Centre, the Seafront, South Quay and all of the residential areas in between, extending over Bure Bridge to Runham Vauxhall.

The neighbourhood is not clearly defined and hosts a great deal of diversity. A range of issues exist in the neighbourhood ranging from high levels of unemployment to issues with crime and anti-social behaviour. A range of projects and interventions are, therefore, being developed to address these (see our Projects section). South and Central Yarmouth also hosts some very strong and vibrant community groups and organisations who are helping to make the area a better place to live.
